Thank you for the flowers

Louise has asked me to thank everyone who has sent flowers, they have helped to brighten what is otherwise a very dark time.

Given the number of people who have been following their story, the house is starting to fill up quite quickly and Louise has asked that anyone wanting to send a tribute make a donation to the just giving site which has been set up in Neil’s memory at www.justgiving.com/plattitude.

Thank you,
Douglas
(Louise’s Brother).

  • To louise a rose of prose.

If you could see inside my heart, my endless love for you was the start.
If you could see inside my soul, it is your love that keeps me whole.
If you could see inside my mind, your love for me my thoughts entwined.
My heart, my soul, my all, my mind.
With out you I am but blind.
Though in the dark you shine your light, and there your mine
    and all is right.
If only you were, still here, or got to live another year, I know we would have sheared much more.
The laughter, passion, joy and tears, are now replaced by pain and fear.
I whish to god you were still here.
I know we’ll be together again, where angels tears fall like rain,
as one, at peace, for all of time, our love will overcome life’s crime.
We will defeat this cruel fate, and in your memory I will not hate.

Our child’s future is our bequest, and just like you, I will not rest, until we are secure at last, and all the pain,
    we’ve shared has passed.
Only then can we join our long lost clan, and be a part of life’s eternal plan.
( it’s better by design, if we follow the architect )
    Neil. X

  • Sending you more love and hugs again today – give Oscar a big hug from Megan Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • Louise – You are in my thoughts constantly. I am just so sad that this has happened to such a wonderful girl. Douglas and I are here for you as Màiri, Hamish and Eilish are here for wee Oscar.

Lynne and Matt – I cannot possibly imagine how it must feel to lose a son/brother. We are thinking of you also and sending our love to you.

We will see you tomorrow – please let us know if there is ANYTHING you need.

    Love always,
    Sara x

  • I was wondering whether to send flowers but suspected Louise would be swimming in them by now, which just shows how much they are all loved. Anyway, I have made a donation having read your blog instead.

I was really glad to see on the news yesterday that they have made a bit of a breakthrough medically with MND – I hope that their hopes for this new breakthrough are realised xxxx

  • Dear Louise and Oscar….sending you ‘flowers’ by donation to Neil’s memorial and more love and support….see you soon…real hugs then.

  • Louise,

Love surrounds both you and Oscar (and, of course, Neil’s wider family and circle of friends); there is a wealth of compassion and sympathy from far and wide. Small comfort given the loss of Neil’s physical presence and all that he encompassed, but hopefully large enough to help move you from one moment to the next. One never “gets over” the loss of a dearly loved soul – the best we can hope for is the kind of acceptance that makes the living more bearable, and eventually wonderful once more. As the inimitable Emily Dickinson once wrote, so astutely:

After great pain, a formal feeling comes -
the Nerves sit ceremonious, like Tombs -
the stiff Heart questions was it He, that bore,
    and Yesterday, or Centuries before?

The Feet, mechanical, go round -
of Ground, or Air, or Ought -
    a Wooden way
    regardless grown,
    a Quartz contentment, like a stone -

This is the Hour of Lead -
    remembered, if outlived,
as Freezing persons, recollect the Snow -
first – Chill – then Stupor – then the letting go -

Wishing you peace, and ease for your fractured hearts.

  • Wow – over 5k raised on your just giving site.Amazing xx
